Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park

your visit to Niceville includes a stop at Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State
Park, located on Highway 20, just east of Niceville.
Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou
State Park is located on the north shore of Choctawhatchee Bay and bordered
by the Rocky Bayou Aquatic Preserve. Visitors to the park can enjoy canoeing
and kayaking, viewing aquatic wildflowers and spotting osprey nests, and
observing wildlife in its natural environment.
Kayaks can be rented for
2 hours, half day, or all day.
There are several new and improved facilities, such as new picnic pavilions,
children’s playground, and a foot-traffic bridge crossing Puddin Head Lake.
The Park Visitor Store provides camping and fishing supplies including bait,
tackle, ice, firewood, RV supplies, souvenir shirts and caps, snacks and
suntan products.
Facilities include campgrounds with
electricity and water, swimming area, boat launch, freshwater fishing,
picnic area, playground and nature trails.
Fred
Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park is open year round.
Hours are 8:00 a.m. to sunset. Admission is $4 per vehicle (8 people
maximum), $3 for one person in a vehicle or $1 per person (pedestrians,
bicyclists) and $2 use of the boat ramp.
